My Friend
Thank you so much for taking me in,
Though there are times I fear I'll never see you again,
Thank you for your warm, generous heart,
Of your life, I'm honored to be but a tiny part,
Thank you for accepting me,
Though what good I am to you, I cannot see,
Thank you for simply being here with me
Promise me friends forever we'll be.
Cure for the blues
A random act of kindness really made my day,
A sweet, warm smile took my blues away,
It was something I didn't expect to see,
Yet it's something that makes me glad just to be.
Existing in the margins,
An echo, a shadow,
I feel people look right through me
A thing of convenience
Yet somehow, a person, too.
