My Friend
Thank you so much for taking me in,
Though there are times I fear I won't see you again,
Thank you for your warm, generous heart,
Of your life, I'm honored to be but a tiny part,
Thank you for accepting me,
Though what good I am to you, I cannot see,
Thank you for simply being here with me,
Promise me friends forever we'll be.
Cure for the blues
A random act of kindness really made my day,
A sweet, warm smile took my blues away,
It was something I didn't expect to see,
Yet it's something that makes me glad just to be.
A Prayer
Let me appreciate the good days,
Give me the strength to get through the bad ones,
Remind my family and friends that they're loved,
Keep them near me always,
Help me be the person they deserve,
Keep and protect us all.
